Business Development Manager- East Coast
The Business Development manager is responsible for driving business growth, identifying new opportunities, and strategic partnerships within the life sciences sector. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing and executing business development strategies, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.
LOCATION: Virtual (a company based in Pottstown, PA) All work will be performed remotely; travel is required for visiting clients and attending conferences
DURATION: Full Time, Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve revenue growth and market expansion.
• Market Analysis: Conduct detailed market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics within the life sciences sector.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, industry leaders, and key stakeholders.
• Proposal Development: Lead the development of compelling proposals and presentations to secure new business deals.
• Partnerships and Alliances: Identify and forge strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance the company's service offerings and market reach.
• Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
• Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate terms and close sales deals to achieve revenue targets.
• Reporting and Analysis: Track sales activities and performance metrics, providing regular reports to management.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and product development teams to align sales efforts with overall company goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze business development activities and performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior management.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, and research and development, to ensure alignment of business development efforts with overall company goals. REQUIREMENTS:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or a related role within the life sciences industry.
• Skills: Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and communication skills; proven ability to drive growth and build strategic relationships.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the life sciences industry, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
• Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Business Development Professional) are a plus.
• Self-sufficient, flexible, and able to work with little direct supervision.
• Collaborative team member with excellent organization skills, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency and follow-through
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal, etc.), interview and negotiation skills, presentation, and influence credibly and work effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Energetic personnel with a positive attitude.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, FileMaker Pro
• Experience with CRM systems (Odoo, etc.)
• Participate in employer-sponsored training to enhance professional skills
